1 · Entertainment and informational purposes only

Vedic Phala presents Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa (Vedic astrology) for personal interest and entertainment. Its readings, charts, timings, and interpretations are derived from classical astrological tradition and astronomical calculation. They are not statements of fact, prediction, or guarantee, and no particular outcome is promised or assured. You use them at your own discretion.

2 · Not a substitute for professional advice

Nothing in the app is, or is intended to be, medical, psychological, mental-health, legal, financial, relationship, career, or other professional advice. Do not make, delay, or avoid any important decision in those areas based on the app. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional. If you may be experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, contact your local emergency services.

2a · Ask Phala and AI-generated content

The app includes an optional chat feature, Ask Phala, available to Vedic Phala Plus subscribers. Unlike the rest of the app — where readings, charts, panchāṅga and Guṇa Milāna are computed from classical tables and fixed astronomical calculation — Ask Phala's answers are generated by an artificial-intelligence language model operated by a third-party provider.

You should understand the following before relying on anything it says:

• Its answers can be wrong. AI-generated text can be inaccurate, incomplete, internally inconsistent, or confidently mistaken. It may misstate the tradition it is describing.
• It is not a person and not an astrologer. It is not a consultation, and no human reviews its answers before you see them.
• Sections 1 and 2 apply to it in full — it is for personal interest and entertainment, it is not a statement of fact or prediction, and it is not medical, psychological, legal, financial, relationship, career, or other professional advice.
• What you type is sent to the model provider. Your question and the recent turns of the conversation are transmitted for processing. Your birth date, time, and place are deliberately not sent. Do not type them, or anyone else's, into the chat.
• We do not warrant its output, and the disclaimers and liability limits in sections 9 and 10 apply to it as they do to the rest of the app.

If Ask Phala produces content you consider offensive or inappropriate, please report it using the reporting option in the app, or by email at the address in section 15.

2b · Camera, photos, and video

The app includes a camera feature that photographs people with their birth star in the background, can record a short sky video clip, and lets you set a reference photo for a saved chart.

• Your photos and videos stay on your device. They are saved to your own device gallery or to the app's private storage. We do not upload them, receive them, or store them on our servers.
• Video is recorded by your device's own camera app and may include audio. The app has no microphone permission and does not record audio itself; it receives only the finished clip.
• Photographs or recordings of other people require their consent — see section 4.
• Sharing is your choice and your responsibility. If you share a photo or video, the app passes it to your device's standard share sheet and you choose the destination. Once shared, the file is governed by the terms of whatever service you sent it to, and is outside our control.

3 · Licence to use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

4 · Acceptable use

You agree to use the app lawfully and responsibly. You must not use the app, its content, its readings, or any chart or birth data — your own or another person's — for any unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive purpose. Without limiting that, you must not:

• violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right;
• use the app, or anyone's chart or reading, to harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, defame, manipulate, exploit, defraud, deceive, discriminate against, or otherwise harm any person or group;
• enter, store, or process the birth details of another person without their informed consent, or the details of a minor without the consent of a parent or legal guardian;
• photograph or record another person, or share a photograph or video of them, without their consent — and never a photograph or recording of a minor without the consent of a parent or legal guardian;
• submit content to Ask Phala that is unlawful, abusive, or intended to provoke harmful output, or attempt to manipulate the assistant into producing content that breaches these Terms;
• represent the app's readings to others as certified fact, scientific proof, guaranteed prediction, or professional advice, including to sell or solicit on that basis;
• use the app to make decisions that affect the rights, safety, finances, employment, or wellbeing of others in a way that relies on the readings as fact;
• reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract source code, models, or data, except to the limited extent the law permits;
• interfere with, overload, or circumvent the security or integrity of the app or our servers, or access them by automated means without permission;
• resell, sublicense, rent, or commercially redistribute the app or its content; or
• engage in fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorized payment or subscription activity.

We may suspend or terminate access for any breach of this section.

5 · Accounts and sign-in

The app is anonymous-first; you can use core features without an account. Signing in with a third-party provider (e.g. Google) is optional and enables cross-device sync, restoring a subscription, and optional email features. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.

6 · Subscriptions, trials, and billing (Vedic Phala Plus)

Some features ("Vedic Phala Plus") require a paid subscription. Where offered, a free trial may precede paid access. Subscriptions are sold and billed through Google Play, which is the merchant of record. Purchases, renewals, price, taxes, trials, cancellations, and refunds are governed by Google Play's terms and your Google account settings.

Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled; cancel at any time in your Google Play account, effective at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law or Google Play's policy, fees are non-refundable. We may change features or pricing prospectively.

7 · Intellectual property

The app, its design, code, text, and original artwork are owned by the Provider or its licensors and are protected by law. The underlying astrological tradition and astronomical methods are part of a shared cultural and scientific heritage and are not claimed by us. You may not use our names, logos, or branding without permission.

8 · Third-party services

The app uses third-party services, including Google Play (distribution and billing), Google Maps Platform (geocoding and time zones), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), Supabase (account and sync), Anthropic (the model that generates answers in Ask Phala), PostHog (analytics), Sentry (crash reporting), ipapi.co (approximate IP location for map centering), and Fly.io (server hosting and email relay). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

9 · Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any reading, calculation, or result is accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10 · Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Provider and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, or for any decision made or action taken in reliance on the app.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the app or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD 50 (or its equivalent in your local currency). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11 · Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Provider and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the app or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

12 · Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to comply with law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including §1, §2, §4, §7, §9, §10, §11, and §14) survive.

13 · Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice which may ask you to accept again. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14 · Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the Provider is established and operates, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings before the courts of your place of residence where applicable law gives you that right. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute informally.
